Hans Makart was born in Salzburg Austria on 29th May 1840

He had a privileged childhood and started his training at the age of 10 at the Vienna Academy.

Hans experimented with many different mediums and became successful as an academic history painter, designer and decorator.

Hans died in Vienna on 30th October 1884.
